Specialisation: Clinical Psychologist, PhD. Integrative Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, emotional regulation and emotional processes (adults)

I am a clinical psychologist, trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) at the University of Lisbon. Although my foundational training is in CBT, my clinical interests and practice are grounded in the principles of integrative psychotherapy. In my work, I draw on interventions from the different therapeutic approaches I have studied, in order to respond to the specific needs of each person. I have a particular interest in third-wave CBT models (Mindfulness, ACT – Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and in relational and experiential approaches, namely Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). I am currently completing my certification as a psychotherapist with the Portuguese Association of Integrative Cognitive-Behavioral Therapies (APTCCI, Lisbon), as well as my certification as an Emotion-Focused Therapist (EFT) with the Greenberg Institute (Toronto).

My professional path combines clinical practice with scientific work. After beginning my career in private practice and community-based interventions in Lisbon, I moved into academia, completing a junior research program in Cognitive-Social Therapy (systemic approach) at the University of Barcelona, and later a PhD at the University of Luxembourg focusing on emotion regulation and burnout. After six years of scientific work in the field of drugs and addictions, I decided to return to clinical practice in 2023.

I currently work with individuals experiencing depressive and anxiety symptoms, personal and professional stress, relational difficulties, life crises, loss and grief, as well as symptoms associated with traumatic experiences.

I adopt a humanistic stance, and my practice is grounded in principles of integrity, acceptance, respect for cultural and religious diversity, non-judgment, and transparency. My role as a therapist is to build a safe, open, and empathic relationship with you, allowing you to explore different facets of yourself, gain deeper self-understanding, and develop skills to cope with the challenges you are facing and to enhance your well-being.
